An ice storm that had put many in the state of emergency has also left the St.Martins with no power and no ability to host our Open House this afternoon. It is our hope that many of you have access to warm shelter, drinking water, power, and perhaps the internet. We are keeping you all in our thoughts, as well as residents at Cross Roads House, as they take up shelter at the Portsmouth High School.
I believe as I write that power is being restored in many places, but alas not in East Kingston. We will look to sometime in 2009 to bring everyone together. Till then, please be well. Create, participate, inspire and be inspired.
Best to All!!

Inspired Offerings
Below you can find links to some of the artists participating in this year's open studio. This is just a partial listing of inspired people who will be selling and exhibiting handmade pieces and products. Along with photography, paintings, books, sculpture and fiber arts, there will be jewelry, blockprints, greeting cards, christmas ornaments, creative wall hangings, gift tags and more. A thoughtful, looping audio visual presentation about Cross Roads House, along with architectural renderings and photos of recent activity, will give visitors a window into the life and times at this unique shelter. Those interested in providing an item to help satisfy the current "Wish List" , found at Cross Roads House are welcome to bring it to the Open House. Gift cards are especially appreciated as space becomes limited at the shelter.
Looking forward to visiting and celebrating with you all, whether in person or just through the spirit of the season. Please check back for more updates and/or add your own!

Call to Artists and Buyers for a Holiday Open House to Benefit Cross Roads House in Portsmouth
Here is an opportunity to create or purchase art and simultaneously become aware of issues surrounding homelessness and the many who struggle with the ability to call some place "home". "NO PLACE LIKE HOME" is an open house/studio event that benefits Cross Roads House, a shelter that provides emergency and transitional shelter services in Portsmouth, NH. This unique organization deserves recognition and celebration for offering the greater Seacoast alternatives and tools in procuring permanent housing. So take some time during this busy holiday season to join others on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 3-9pm. Spend a spirited afternoon/evening viewing and buying art while sharing a cup and plate of good cheer. A minimum of 10% of all proceeds will directly benefit programs at Cross Roads House. All interested artists and community members are welcome to submit pieces for exhibition and selling. Please call 603 642 6652 for more details and information.
